This Blog is dedicated to discussions regarding the revitalization of downtown Montgomery, Alabama. A new organization has been created called Citizens for Downtown Revitalization which advocates policies and actions that seek to generate revitalization based upon a few fundamental principles: 1. A predictable downtown master plan is a prerequisite for widespread investment in the downtown. 2. The Dover Kohl Master Plan and accompanying SmartCode are world-class documents worthy of our support. 3. Downtown development must be adequately leveraged from a design perspective so that the downtown can be converted from a suburban commuter office park into a vibrant regional center. 4. Additional policies such as land value taxation must be adopted in order to discourage owners of vacant land from sitting on their properties instead of improving them.

Has any further contact w RSA happened – I saw Bronner at an annual event one night last weekend and though tempted to approach him, I found the social setting awkward. I hope he will view this presentation and reflect seriously on it.
